Frugal tips to further your savings:

I have to confess that I generally toss the Valpak coupon mailer into recycling without opening it because I check for deals at their online site. However, this week I perused my Valpak mailer before going online and found an interesting bit of information; Valpak does not feature all their hard copy (mailer) coupons at their online site.

A specific example from some of the most recent versions of the Valpak mailer is a coupon for a really good deal from Omaha steaks. However, Valpak.com has a different offer that is, notably, not as good a deal. In addition, I came across two coupons in a mailer that were not on the Valpak site at all. These coupons were for SportClips and RubyTuesday.

On a final note, last week I said that I test email "clubs" before recommending them. This week, I want to tell you about an email club from which I am un-subscribing, Haagen-Dazs. Several months ago, I signed up with Haagen-Dazs with the hope of receiving deals for their grocery line.

Unfortunately, I only received emails for ice cream freebie "days" at their shop within O’Hare airport. So, unless you work at or spend a lot of time traveling through O’Hare airport this not a "deal" for you.

As always, check with the individual merchant for specific details.
