MARK FIELDS SENTENCED TO THREE AND ONE-HALF YEARS IN THE ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS FOR THE OFFENSE OF AGGRAVATED CRIMINAL SEXUAL ABUSEÂ

Patrick D. Kenneally, McHenry County State’s Attorney, announces that Mark Fields, 24, of Tucson, Arizona, was sentenced to three and one-half years in the Illinois Department of Corrections by Honorable Judge Robert Wilbrandt at a sentencing hearing held on July 22, 2021. Fields previously entered an open plea of guilty to Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse, a Class 2 Felony.Â
In June of 2020, Fields and an adult female traveled from Arizona to Richmond, Illinois. Prior to traveling to Illinois, Fields engaged in an online relationship with a minor who resided in Richmond. Upon arriving in Richmond, Fields and the adult female met the minor and took the minor to a motel, where Fields engaged in sexual intercourse with the minor.Â
This case was investigated by members of the Richmond Police Department and the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department. This case was prosecuted by Brian Miller of the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office.Â
