Police: Woman Uses Social Security Number of Local Resident to Gain Employment

A 33-year-old Belvidere woman has been arrested for identity theft after police said she used the social security number of someone living in unincorporated Algonquin to gain employment. 

McHenry County Sheriff's Office investigators arrested Marisol Sanchez-Herrera this past week. She is charged with identity theft and a $50,000 bond was ordered in the case. 

Police said they obtained records that led the to Sanchez-Herrera. She was interviewed and arrested on Wednesday and transported to the McHenry County Correctional Facility.
