SPRINGFIELD – Following the announcement of the verdict in the “ComEd Four” trial, State Representative Jeff Keicher (R-Sycamore) released the following statement:

"As a member of the Legislative Ethics Commission, the verdict today illustrates how damaging public corruption has been to the people’s relationship with Illinois legislators and why we must take action to restore trust to state government," said Keicher. "Speaker Madigan may be gone, but the environment he and his inner circle created that enriches political insiders has barely been addressed. I have and will continue to call for meaningful ethics reform in state government that clamps down on unethical lobbying practices, empowers the Legislative Inspector General to freely investigate allegations of corruption, and strengthens conflict of interest requirements for elected officials and lobbyists."
