Top 25 Illinois Counties and Cities with the Most DUI Arrests

Of Illinois’ 991 total crash fatalities in 2013, 317 were alcohol-related.

The Alliance Against Intoxicated Motorists, an Illinois-based citizens’ task force founded in 1982 to combat drunk driving, released 2013 DUI arrest statistics for the state’s cities and counties, though not every locality responded to the group’s data requests.

While the number of alcohol-impaired driving deaths decreased nearly 38 percent between 2002 and 2012, intoxicated driving is a bigger problem in some parts of the state than others – i.e., Cook and the collar counties.

Here are the top 25 cities and counties with the most DUI arrests in 2013. There also is a data table with AAIM’s complete set of rankings.
