The Tax Foundation recently mapped out how much $100 is actually worth in each state based on the cost of consumer goods. The good news for Illinois is $100 here goes further than it does in states such as Maryland, New Jersey, California and Hawaii. But none of those states are in the Midwest. None of them border Illinois.
