Woman, 21, Dies In I-90 Crash In Huntley

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — The McHenry County Coroner's Office has identified a 21-year-old woman killed in a collision on Interstate 90 last week.
Dasiree Cunningham, of Rockford, died following a crash early Thursday on I-90 near milepost 46 in Huntley, according to a news release from the coroner's office.
The crash happened when a passenger sedan and a semi-tractor trailer collided around 4:30 a.m. just west of Route 47 near the I-90 entrance ramp, according to the Huntley Fire Protection District.

Emergency crews extricated both people from the sedan. One person was flown by helicopter to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, while the other was taken to Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital, according to the release.
Cunningham died at Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital. Preliminary autopsy results show she died from brain injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
