What started years ago as joke has burgeoned into a Huntley day-before-Thanksgiving tradition.

The Turkey Testicle Festival enters its 29^th season of serving up batter-fried turkey testicles. Last year, owners Jeff Lovell and Mark Wishaar drew a festival record-breaking 4,200 guests.

The duo expects to serve 1,000 pounds of turkey testicles this Wednesday.

In addition to providing good food, music and a good time, the festival benefits several nonprofit organizations including the Huntley Jaycees and Huntley Lions Club, as well as Huntley baseball, wrestling and football groups.

Entertainment

Live music will be provided throughout the day. This year’s entertainment schedule is:

11 a.m. to 1 p.m.     HairDaze

1:30 to 3:30 p.m.    Aunt Janet Band

4 to 6 p.m.               Liberty’s Teeth

6:30 to 8:30 p.m.     He Said She Said

9 p.m. to midnight   7^th Heaven

For one day, the wait staff transform into "Nut Girls," serving up testicles and plenty of Tobasco sauce on the side. Patrons can purchase drink tickets. To be certain, this is a 21-and-older event.

Parking is expected to be tight, so owners encourage festival attendees to use the free shuttle buses, traveling routes throughout the Huntley community, or take advantage of the discounted taxi service provided by Route 47 Taxi Transportation.

In addition, All-Star Towing will give a free tow and safe ride home for drivers. Bus route and additional transportation information is listed on the Parkside Pub’s official Turkey Testicle Festival website.

For those not brave enough to sink their teeth into a turkey testicle, but still wanting to join the festivities, also will serve pizza, Italian beef and Italian sausage.
