4 Injuries, Caton Farm Road Shut Down For Car Fire, Wreck

JOLIET, IL — A total of four people were taken to Joliet area hospitals following Wednesday night's wreck on Caton Farm Road involving three vehicles. The collision caused one of the cars to go up in flames.

Joliet Fire Department Battalion Chief Matt Baxter said the firefighters were called to Caton Farm Road and Hel-Mar Lane at 7 p.m. for a car crash involving one vehicle on fire.

The Plainfield Fire Department was in the area and arrived just ahead of JFD to extinguish the vehicle. There were a total of four patients were treated and taken by Joliet FD and Plainfield FD to the hospital and none of the injuries was deemed life-threatening, Baxter said.

Caton Farm Road was shut down in both directions for more than 30 mins for clean-up as fire crews from Stations 8, and 9 were on the scene, Baxter added.
