6 Deaths, 40 Coronavirus Cases At Joliet's Villa Franciscan
Symphony of Joliet is not the only nursing home in Joliet struggling to stop the spread of the new coronavirus.

JOLIET, IL — Symphony of Joliet is not the only nursing home in the city struggling to stop the spread of the new coronavirus inside its care facility. Presence Villa Franciscan, 210 Springfield Ave., has had six deaths and 40 confirmed coronavirus cases, according to nursing home data released Sunday by the Illinois Department of Public Health.
The data from state public health officials shows the situation at Joliet's Villa Franciscan is far worse than was originally reported just two days earlier.
At Friday's news conference, Mayor Bob O'Dekirk said he knew about 22 coronavirus cases at Villa Franciscan, but Joliet's mayor did not indicate any deaths at the care facility near the campus of the AMITA Health Saint Joseph Medical Center.

Meanwhile, Symphony of Joliet on North Larkin Avenue now reports 81 coronavirus cases including more than two dozen deaths, including two employees.

The PARC at Joliet, 222 N. Hammes Ave., now reports at least 18 coronavirus cases and four deaths.
Sunny Hill Nursing Home in Joliet reported two cases and no deaths, state health reports show. Joliet's Rock Run Place retirement community at 3320 Executive Drive reported five confirmed coronavirus cases and no deaths as of Sunday, April 19.
