JOLIET, IL —Friday marked the first time that the Joliet Farmers Market was held in the new Joliet City Square across from the Rialto Square Theatre. Joliet Patch was on hand to produce a handful of videos showcasing some of the many vendors who traveled to Joliet. One vendor, Bennett Farms, came all the way from Michigan to sell the homegrown meats produced at their family farm.
The Joliet Farmers Market will now take place every Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the new downtown Joliet City Square along North Chicago Street.
The Joliet Farmers Market will continue until Sept. 18.
Michele Arana of the Internode, 81 North Chicago Street, has introduced the farmers market into Joliet and Arana expects more vendors will be added in the weeks ahead. This marks the third year that Joliet has organized a farmers market in the downtown area.
