Another Domestic Violence Arrest For Joliet Man: Police
While at the Joliet Police Department, Douglas Yates, 42, refused to cooperate with the booking process, police reports note.

JOLIET, IL — For the second time this summer, Joliet police have arrested 42-year-0ld Douglas Yates in connection with a domestic disturbance, the latest incident happened inside a guest room at the Star Inn at 2219 1/2 West Jefferson Street, arrest reports show.
Yates, who comes from an apartment unit in the 100 block of Illinois Street, now has a $100,000 bail after facing charges of domestic battery and obstruction of justice.
Yates was just released from the county jail on Aug. 3, after being booked into custody on June 14.

According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English, the latest incident was reported to Joliet police around 9:15 p.m. Friday:
- Officers responded to the 1100 block of East Cass Street for a report of a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, Officers learned that Yates had struck a woman multiple times in the face and had pulled her hair while both were in a guest room of the Star Inn, 2219 1⁄2 West Jefferson Street.
- The victim fled the room and left the area in a vehicle.
- Officers responded to the Star Inn and found Yates inside the guest room, and he was placed into custody without incident.
- While at the Joliet Police Department, Yates refused to cooperate with the booking process, and he was transferred to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
On June 15, Joliet Patch reported that bail has been set at $50,000 for a 42-year-old Joliet man from the St. Pat's Neighborhood Area in connection with allegations that Douglas Yates violently attacked a pregnant woman and refused to let her leave his apartment unit, arrest logs show.
