Big Apple Pancake House Makes Comeback In Joliet
After being shut down for six weeks during the new coronavirus outbreak, Joliet's Big Apple Pancake House on Larkin Avenue is back.

JOLIET, IL— Joliet's locally owned restaurants are continuing to make a comeback. Not only did Louis' Family Restaurant on West Jefferson Street reopen this week after being closed since March, Big Apple Pancake House reopened Wednesday for takeout orders.
Big Apple Pancake House, at 106 N. Larkin Ave., is next to the Burger King restaurant and across the street from the vacant Kmart parking lot.
"We've had a lot of people already this morning," said April, one of Big Apple's employees, shortly before lunch Thursday. "We have a lot of people who are glad we are reopen. About 80 percent of our customers are repeat customers."

While Big Apple is known for its breakfast entrees, April stressed there are several tasty selections from the lunch menu.
"It's not all breakfast," she said. "We have club sandwiches. We have burgers. We have chicken tenders. We have kids meals to go."
Big Apple is now staying open for takeout orders from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, according to its website.
Big Apple is a locally owned family restaurant that has been around for 30 years. There are two locations: Joliet and Chicago Heights.
