Bloody Downtown Fight, 1 Of Joliet's Love Brothers Cuts Hand: JPD
Robert Hicks and Thomas Love were placed into custody, and officers say they recovered a knife upon search of Hicks.

JOLIET, IL — One of Joliet's most notorious criminal defendants, 36-year-old Thomas Love, was arrested Sunday afternoon along with a man much older than him, 55-year-old Robert Hicks, during a fight that involved weapons in downtown Joliet at the Joliet Housing Authority's John Murphy Building, Joliet police reports show.
Love was later let go on an I-bond on charges of criminal trespass and criminal damage to property, while Hicks was delivered to the Will County Jail. He's facing a charge of aggravated battery.
Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English said the following events led to the pair's arrest:

- Around 2:05 p.m., Joliet police were sent to the Riverside Center at 311 North Ottawa Street for a disturbance outside the building. Hicks and Love were involved in a fight.
- Hicks cut Love’s left hand with a knife after Love broke a rear window to Hicks’ van.
- Love’s injury was considered to be minor. Both Hicks and Love were on scene, and both were placed into custody. Officers recovered a knife upon search of Hicks.
