Cops Catch Gangster With Stolen Pistol: Police

The gang member was riding in a car pulled over by tactical officers, police said.

A Joliet gang member with a stolen pistol was arrested during a late Tuesday night traffic stop.

Darron Prince, 27, was charged with being an armed habitual criminal, possession of a firearm by a gang member, possession of a stolen firearm, and possession of cannabis.

Prince was riding in a car pulled over by tactical officers shortly after 11:30 p.m. near the corner of Washington and Davison streets.

Prince was holding marijuana and the handgun, which turned out to have been stolen, police said. The Will County Sheriff’s Department had taken the initial report on the stolen handgun, according to police.

Prince was taken to the Will County jail. His bond was set at $500,000.
