Coroner IDs Joliet Stabbing Victim From Meeker Ave.

Monday's early morning homicide happened on Joliet's east side at the Spanish American Club. Another man was also stabbed.

JOLIET, IL — In the aftermath of Monday's early morning stabbing death at the Spanish American Club, Will County Coroner Laurie Summers has announced the 40-year-old victim has been identified as Joliet resident Jorge Chiguil Toto.

Toto was pronounced dead around 1:50 a.m.

Joliet police previously announced that a second man, also 40 years old, suffered stab wounds as well. The second man was listed in stable condition Monday at Silver Cross Hospital.

A 50-year-old man was also punched in the face by the killer, who managed to run away before Joliet police cars arrived on the scene of the violent crime at 413 Meeker Avenue.

As of Tuesday evening, Joliet police detectives had not made any arrests in the slaying.
