Dodge Ram Towed From Jefferson St., Driver Faces DUI Charges

Carlos Real, age 52, of Joliet was also cited for two counts of improper lane usage and his truck was towed from the scene, police noted.

JOLIET, IL — A 52-year-old Joliet man from the 200 block of Emery Street is no longer in the Will County Jail in connection with his felony DUI charges. Early Sunday morning, Joliet police arrested Carlos Valladares Real on two counts of aggravated DUI.

He was driving his Dodge Ram truck along West Jefferson Street, near Emery, and that's when Joliet police pulled him over.

According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English:

  • The traffic stop for improper lane usage happened at 12:08 a.m.
  • Real was identified as the driver. A female adult and two juveniles, male, age 15 and female, age 13, were passengers in the vehicle.
  • Real exhibited behaviors consistent of possible alcohol impairment while speaking with the officers. Real refused to perform field sobriety tests and was placed into custody without incident. Real was also cited for two counts of improper lane usage and his vehicle was towed from the scene.
  • Will County Jail records indicate that Real has been released from custody after posting 10 percent of his $25,000 bail.
