Projected Winners: Will Co. Judge Races, Clerk, Treasurer, More
Voters across Will County had to decide on county clerk, county treasurer, sheriff as well as other contested judge races.

JOLIET, IL — Tuesday night's unofficial Will County vote totals showed a handful of Republican candidates gaining victories of their incumbent Democrat officeholders, but it did not go that way in every contested Will County race.
Republican Joliet criminal defense attorney Bob Bodach, a member of the Tomczak Law Group, had 111,117 votes compared 109,687 for Democrat associate judge Jessica Colon-Sayre, in the race for one of the open Will County Circuit judges, according to unofficial tallies.
In the race for sheriff, Republican Jim Reilly had a lead of nearly 290 votes over two-term Democratic Sheriff Mike Kelley, the unofficial totals showed.

In the Will County Treasurer's race, Joliet Democrat incumbent Tim Brophy had less votes than his Republican challenger Raj Pillai of Plainfield. Pillai had 111,708 compared to Brophy's total of 111,230.

In the race for Will County Regional School Superintendent, Democrat incumbent Shawn Walsh had more than 6,000 votes fewer than Republican challenger Elizabeth Caparelli-Ruff. Walsh got 94,954 versus 101,379 for Caparelli-Ruff.

Democrats did win a number of contested races on Tuesday, however.
Incumbent Will County Clerk Lauren Staley-Ferry won a second four-year term in office by topping Republican challenger Gretchen Fritz by a vote margin of nearly 10,000 votes, 116,619 for Staley-Ferry compared to Fritz's total of 106,915.
In another Will County Circuit judge race, Republican associate judge Art Smigielski lost his race against former state senator and former Assistant Will County State's Attorney John Connor, the vote totals showed. A Democrat, Connor had 112,426 votes compared to Smigielski's vote total of 107,899.
