CREST HILL— One week after the parking lot homicide of former Joliet resident Terrell Fanniel and gunshot wounds to four more people, Crest Hill's Forza Table & Tap is no longer open.

"It is with a heavy heart that we must let you know that Forza will be permanently closing. We want you to know that we did our best to avoid getting to this point but the circumstances pushed our hand," Forza posted on its Facebook page around 5:30 p.m. Monday.

Two days after the death of the 32-year-old shooting victim outside the Forza Table and Tap, the Will County Coroner's Office identified the homicide victim.

On July 10, around 11:45 p.m., Fanniel died of a gunshot wound in the large parking lot used by Forza. The shooting happened following an event inside Forza.

"Forza Table & Tap is a modern lounge/Restaurant with a full sports bar featuring a delicious Italian-American menu. Ideal for dining, private events and live entertainments," its Facebook page noted.

Crest Hill police said last week that as many as 200 people were in the parking lot around the time of the shooting. Police were also on the scene trying to enforce Crest Hill's loitering ordinance when the gunfire broke out.

There were at least two gunmen involved in the violence, and Crest Hill police have declined to divulge whether Fanniel was one of the shooters.

Nobody has been arrested in connection with the shootings.

"We would like to thank every customer that has supported us through the years and appreciate your loyalty. We couldn’t have lasted as long as we did without you. Thank you to City of Crest Hill and the community for giving us the opportunity to serve," Forza posted on social media in Monday's closing announcement.

Patch has reached out to Crest Hill officials for their reaction to Monday's announcement.
