George Moffett Obituary

A service will be held Thursday at St. John M.B. Church in Joliet.

George Earl Moffett

Age 68, born on October 3, 1944, in Louin, Mississippi.  He transitioned this life and entered into glory on Monday, September 23, 2013, at Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center.

George was preceded in death by his grandmother, Gladys Meyer; father, Floyd Moffett; stepfather, Willie Nobles; and one sister, Katie Nobles, in addition to another sister and brother.

He leaves to mourn his mother, Ora V. Nobles; wife, Brenda Travis-Moffett; four children, Steven (Laquenta) Moffett, Veronica Moffett-Melendez, Tracy (Ricky) Moffett-Henley and Mia Travis-Moffett; four brothers, Tommie (Leah) Laster, William (Margaret) Nobles, Leroy Nobles and Donald Nobles Sr.; three sisters, Elouise, McNeil, Lora D. Nobles and Beverly Nobles-Smith; fourteen grandchildren; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

A special thanks to his nieces, Krystal Larkins and Dajia Woods, his caregivers, Presence St. Joseph Hospital medical professionals, Dr. Ajiar, Dr. John Walsh, Dr. Govind Ramadurai, Dr. Hussain and four special friends, Lawrence Cooley, Bernard Dunn, Berk Broadway and Joyce Willis.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2013 from 1:00-3:00PM at St. John M.B. Church, 104 E. Zarley Blvd. Service at 3:00PM, Apostle Albert Buford, New Heart Worship Center Intl., officiating.
