Golden Corral Faces Lawsuit From Customer
Clotiel Palmer hired the Joliet law firm of Block, Klukas, Manzella & Shell to sue the Jefferson Street restaurant.

JOLIET, IL - It's been almost two years since Joliet resident Clotiel Palmer paid a visit to the Golden Corral restaurant at 2100 West Jefferson Street, but that experience is still on her mind. This week, Palmer filed a civil lawsuit against Golden Corral. She is seeking more than $50,000 in monetary damages from the Will County judicial system, plus legal expenses for filing the lawsuit. Her lawsuit stems from Palmer's visit to the Golden Corral on August 7, 2016.
"Clotiel Palmer entered the building and purchased a takeout box without incident, but upon exiting immediately tripped and fell over folded mats in front of the door which had not been present at the time she entered the building," states her lawyer Elizabeth Klukas.
Palmer's lawsuit states that "the area on the floor where the folded mats were located was an area of egress and ingress for invitees." The lawsuit accuses Golden Corral of committing seven specific acts of negligence and carelessness and, as a result, "the plaintiff Clotiel Palmer was caused to trip and fall on the folded mats unattended in the walkway to the exit, causing her sustain severe and permanent injuries."
