Gunfire At Rt. 59 Murphy's: Arrest Warrant Sought For Joliet Teen
The shooting happened at the Murphy's Express at the Route 59 Walmart on the night of Nov. 18.

JOLIET, IL — Two months after Joliet police officers responded to a shooting at the Murphy's Express gas station on Route 59, Will County prosecutors have obtained a warrant for the arrest of 18-year-old Joliet resident Damarco Whitaker.
Whitaker has been charged with two counts of armed robbery, aggravated discharge of a gun and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. A Will County judge issued a warrant for Whitaker's arrest on Thursday, with bail set at $250,000.
Court records listed Whitaker as residing in the apartment units in the 2200 block of Oneida Street.

According to the criminal complaint, Whitaker tried to shoot someone at the Murphy's Express gas station parking lot around 6 p.m. on Nov. 18. Joliet police believe Whitaker fired a gun from the passenger side of one vehicle at another vehicle, striking only the vehicle.
Both vehicles struck an unoccupied and uninvolved vehicle parked at a gas pump. The people in the shooter's vehicle then ran off.

As of Friday afternoon, Whitaker had not been taken into Joliet police custody.
