Harrah's Domestic Fight Lands Lockport Man In Jail

This 41-year-old Lockport man was booked into the Will County Jail at 12:01 a.m. Friday.

JOLIET, IL - A 41-year-old Lockport man is spending his weekend in the Will County Jail after being arrested late Thursday at the Harrah's Casino & Hotel on domestic battery charges. Joliet Police reports show that Michael Stephen was arrested around 11 p.m. after officers were notified of a domestic taking place.

"While en route, officers were informed that the male fled on foot eastbound Clinton then onto Chicago. Officers located the male at Chicago and Cass, later identified as Stephen," police reports show.

According to police, "The victim refused to cooperate fully with the investigation, but stated that she was pushed by Stephen. The victim had a visible red mark on her right shoulder blade from the incident with Stephen."

Police later interviewed an employee at Harrah's Casino who relayed that "he saw Stephen and the victim in an argument, and then saw Stephen push the victim to the ground. Video surveillance shows Stephen and the victim appear to be arguing. Stephen then advances and lunges toward the victim. Stephen strikes the victim in the face with his hand and the victim falls to the ground," Joliet Police said.

A judge set bail at $15,000 for the Lockport man. As of Friday night, he remained incarcerated.
