Joliet Bank Robbery Suspect Nabbed In Different State

Federal charges are now pending, Joliet police say.

JOLIET, IL -A man sought in connection with Monday's Joliet bank robbery at the New Century Federal Credit Union has been captured, the Joliet Police Department announced on Friday. Adam T. Wright, 38, was taken into custody in Oakland County, Michigan. Joliet Police said Wright "also admitted to committing two other bank robberies in southeast Michigan and has been previously convicted of bank robbery in both 2004 and 2011."

Federal criminal charges are now pending against Wright, Joliet Police said.

Police told Patch they believe Wright is from the Springfield, Illinois area, though authorities in Michigan described him as a resident of Detroit.

Authorities told WDIV that Wright admitted to robbing a Chase Bank in Utica, Michigan, on July 14 and a credit union in Auburn Hills, Michigan, on July 26, in addition to the Joliet robbery.
