Joliet Cocaine Dealer Faces 4 Charges: Prosecutors

The arrest was carried out this week by the Joliet Metropolitan Area Narcotics Squad and members of the Joliet Police Department.

JOLIET, IL — A 38-year-old Joliet man faces four felony charges in connection with allegations of dealing large amounts of cocaine and marijuana in the community, according to court records. The Joliet Police Department hauled away Agustin Segura, who lives in the 2800 block of Stacia Court, which is near Von Esch Road, on Tuesday morning.

Will County judge Brian Barrett set bail at $500,000 for Segura.

As a condition of his bail, Segura will be prohibited from leaving Illinois in the event he comes up with the necessary 10 percent to post as bond.

Wednesday's criminal complaint was prepared by officers at the Joliet Metropolitan Area Narcotics Squad. Segura has been charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. According to police, Segura had at least 400 grams of cocaine in his possession on Feb. 25 but less than 900 grams.

Segura was also charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance as well as unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver and unlawful possession of cannabis. The felony marijuana charges indicate Segura had more than 500 grams but less than 2,000 grams of marijuana that he intended to deliver to other people on Feb. 25.

As of Thursday, Segura remained in the Will County Jail.

According to court records, a Spanish-speaking interpreter has been provided by the court to assist Segura with understanding of his criminal court proceedings at Will County's Courthouse.
