Joliet Man Jailed For Being Deadbeat Dad: Cops

This man was booked into the county jail around 10 p.m. Saturday.

JOLIET, IL - Daniel Zavala's weekend plans were altered on Saturday night after Joliet Police officers took him away in handcuffs and delivered him to the Will County Adult Detention Facility. Jail logs show that Zavala, 30, is being detained for civil non-support. His bond amount is listed as $3,000 cash. Zavala lives in the 600 of Joliet's Abe Street.

Court records show that Zavala and his wife got divorced in 2014. However, Zavala has repeatedly been a no-show at the Will County Courthouse on hearings related to financial support matters. On March 12, Zavala once again skipped out on a court hearing that was attended by Assistant Attorney General Brian Moore, court records indicate. A Will County judge issued a warrant for Zavala's arrest in the amount of $3,000 cash with no 10 percent to apply.
