Joliet Man Kept Guns Around Children: Joliet Police
Joliet police officers hauled away Jaime Briceno in handcuffs on Thursday morning.

JOLIET, IL — The Joliet Police Department arrested 25-year-old Jaime Briceno on Thursday morning after police say they learned that several guns inside the house in the 600 block of East Dover Street that were easily access to children.
Briceno was delivered to the Will County Jail and he has been charged with three counts of unlawful use of a weapon by a felon and endangering the life and health of a child.
"Detectives determined that Briceno possessed multiple firearms within a residence in the 600 block of East Dover Street. Further investigation showed that Briceno allowed minor children within the residence access to these weapons," Joliet police reports show.

On Thursday around 8:20 a.m., Joliet police raided the house in the 600 block of East Dover Street and Briceno was taken into custody without incident, reports show.
The children at the residence were brought to the Joliet Police Department accompanied by other adult family members. The Illinois Department of Child and Family Services was notified of the incident and the children were released back to the care of their family, Joliet police said.

Incidentally, one of the defendant's relatives, Daniel Briceno, now 19, who also lived in the 600 block of Dover Street, has remained in the Will County Jail facing first-degree murder charges in connection with the December 23, 2018 slaying of Jermaine Peete, 19, and the non-fatal shooting of a 22-year-old man.
The 2018 homicide occurred in the 600 block of Dover Street, Joliet Patch previously reported.
