Joliet Man Pleads Guilty on Day His Trial For 2004 Murder Slated to Start
The Joliet man was given a 20-year prison sentence in exchange for his guilty plea.

A Joliet man arrested in 2012 for a murder he committed eight years earlier pleaded guilty on the day his trial was scheduled to start.
Durando Ontario Eskridge, 32, was sentenced to 20 years in prison in exchange for his guilty plea Monday afternoon.
Eskridge faced two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the June 2004 killing of Herbert Brown.

Brown, also of Joliet, was gunned down on Englewood Avenue after an argument.
Eskridge was arrested eight years later in Des Moines, Iowa. While in Iowa, Eskridge was convicted on a cocaine charge and did a year in prison there, delaying his extradition to Illinois.
