Joliet Park District's 3 18-Hole Golf Courses Reopen
Joliet Park District director Brad Staab told Joliet Patch that several people have already booked tee times for the next few days.

JOLIET, IL — During the past two months, the Joliet Park District's outdoor and indoor facilities have not been used by guests because of the new coronavirus outbreak. But that changes at 6 a.m. Friday. Come May, all three of Joliet's 18-hole public golf courses will be open.
Joliet Park District Director Brad Staab told Joliet Patch on Thursday that all three public courses, Woodruff, Wedgewood and Inwood, are booked for 6 a.m. tee times Friday.
Gov. J.B. Pritzker announced that golf courses will be allowed to reopen starting in May provided that the golf courses implement several social distancing guidelines.

Under the new social distancing guidelines, Staab said the Joliet Park District will only allow golfers to play in groups of two, not foursomes. Also, tee times will be 15 minutes apart. The last daily tee time will be around 4 p.m., he added.

Staab told Patch the three 18-hole courses are in great shape, however, there are spots throughout the courses where there may be puddles because of all the recent rain.
Staab said Joliet has received about 5 inches of rain this week.
"We'll be offering our summer rates at all three courses," he said. "We've had a good response already, with tee times being booked up (on Wednesday). We still have a few tee times available over the next few days if people are interested."
To book a tee time with the Joliet Park District, golfers should call the clubhouse or go online to book a tee time here.
The phone numbers for each of the courses are as follows: Inwood Golf Course: 815-741-7265, Wedgewood Golf Course: 815-741-7270 and Woodruff Golf Course at 815-741-7272.
