Joliet Police Attacked By Woman After She Witnessed An Arrest: Cops
Antone Sheward purposefully struck his head again the police vehicle, causing a dent, Joliet police noted.

JOLIET, IL — A 32-year-old man from Lockport and a 33-year-old woman from Joliet were arrested by Joliet police on felony charges following an incident last week in the 500 block of Eastern Avenue.
On Wednesday, officers hauled away Antone Sheward in handcuffs on two in-state warrants, plus criminal damage to state property and aggravated resisting a peace officer.
In addition, Danielle Cook was arrested on charges of aggravated battery to a peace officer and resisting a peace officer.

Joliet police spokesman Olin Torkelson said the following events led to the arrests:
- Around 7:30 p.m., officers were called to the Eastern Avenue disturbance and the officers recognized Sheward, knowing he had active arrest warrants. When officers put Sheward into custody, police say Sheward resisted and when officers tried to place Sheward into a different police vehicle, he purposefully struck his head again the police vehicle, causing a dent.
- Sheward was eventually placed into the police vehicle.
- While officers were investigating the initial disturbance between Sheward and Cook, Cook became upset that Sheward was arrested, officials said.
- According to police, Cook tried to interfere with Sheward’s arrest and was given commands to stay back. Cook refused and struck an officer in the chest. Officers then placed Cook into custody, at which point she kicked another officer in the leg, officials said.
- Police say both Sheward and Cook refused to cooperate with the disturbance investigation. Cook was taken to the Will County Adult Detention Facility. Sheward refused to cooperate with the booking process and was transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
