Joliet's Flores Brothers Charged In Washington Street Shooting

A young man was critically injured Tuesday night in Joliet and a woman nearby suffered a graze wound.

JOLIET, IL — The Joliet Police Department has charged 23-year-old Eduardo Flores in connection with Tuesday night's shooting that left another man critically injured and a woman suffered a graze wound while standing in a nearby drive way.

A warrant has also been issued for the capture of Eduardo Flores' brother Luis Flores.

Eduardo Flores has been charged with two counts of aggravated battery while brother Luis is being charged with aggravated discharge of a gun and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.

Around 6 p.m., Joliet police learned that a 23-year-old man was shot in his abdomen and a woman suffered a graze wound to her arm in the 1000 block of East Washington Street.

According to police, two people pulled up in a car and started an argument.

"One of the suspects exited the vehicle at which time he displayed a firearm and began shooting at the victims. The suspects then fled in the vehicle from the area," Joliet police reports state.

The woman who suffered a graze wound did not want to go to the hospital. The young man who was critically injured was taken by ambulance to Silver Cross Hospital.

"Joliet Police Detectives quickly identified the suspects as brothers, Eduardo Flores and Luis Flores," police announced on Friday.

Eduardo Flores was arrested Tuesday night. On Thursday, the Will County State’s Attorney Office issued an arrest warrant for the capture of Luis Flores.
