Joliet's Latest Shooting: Here's What Police Know

JOLIET, IL — While most Joliet residents were asleep, the city's overnight firefighter-paramedics and police officers were busy investigating Sunday's early morning shooting that sent a 22-year-old man from the city's east side to the hospital.

The violence happened at 3:15 a.m.

According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English:

  • Officers responded to the 400 block of Meeker Avenue for a person who was shot.
  • Officers located a 22-year-old man on the ground who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his legs. Officers immediately provided medical assistance until Joliet Fire Department paramedics arrived on the scene. The victim was transported to Silver Cross Hospital by the Joliet Fire Department with non-life-threatening injuries.
  • No arrests have been made, so far.
