JTHS Student Help Desk Technician Expresses Thanks for Experience

Braulio Guzman, Central 2018 graduate, worked with JTHS Information Technology Services Department at the Help Desk for the last two years

The Joliet Central and West High School Technology Help Desks provide support to students experiencing technical issues with their netbook computers. This service is vital to the high school’s 1:1 technology initiative where every student receives a computing device to use in school and at home, providing 24/7 access to education, and eliminating the digital divide.

To further expand the learning that occurs within the 1:1 technology initiative, JTHS students work alongside members of the Information Technology Services Department as Help Desk Technicians. This experience provides authentic, real-world technology application that benefits students as they prepare for post-secondary education or a career.

Braulio Guzman, a Central 2018 graduate, worked with the Joliet Township High School Information Technology Services Department at the Help Desk for the last two years during the school year and the summer prior to continuing his education as a student at Lewis University.

During his last day as a student technician, Guzman expressed thanks to members of the JTHS Information Technology Services Department. “I wanted to thank everyone for giving me the chance of experiencing what's it like to be a part of team,” said Guzman. “It has been truly an honor working with everyone. It was always a good time coming in because of the environment I was surrounded by. I can only take positive things from these two years I've been here. I am really thankful.”
