Male Shot At Dangerous Fairview Housing Complex: Commissioner
A Joliet Housing Authority commissioner said that Joliet's police officers got to the scene quickly.

JOLIET, IL - Violence has been on the rise in Joliet this month and late Monday night someone was struck by gunfire at Joliet's dangerous Fairview Public Housing Complex, according to Joliet Housing Authority commissioner Bob Hernandez. He went to the scene shortly before midnight to post a Facebook Live video. He regularly walks the public housing complex, which is expected to be torn down in the coming months, perhaps around September.
At any rate, Hernandez relayed from the scene that several of Joliet's on-duty patrol officers responded to Fairview rapidly, and he said these Joliet officers did an outstanding job of securing the scene.
After visiting with witnesses who live in Fairview, Hernandez said that one male was apparently shot and he was taken to an area hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds. Residents at Fairview told Hernandez they heard multiple gunshots fired. The crime occurred between 11 and 11:30 p.m.
