Man Busted For Soliciting Minor In Will County Seeks Probation

The defendant hired David Sterba, a criminal defense attorney in Palos Heights.

JOLIET, IL - Last July, 56-year-old David H. Anderson left his home in Oak Lawn. His destination was the Crest Hill McDonald's. When he got there, he did not order french fries and a Big Mac. That day, the Will County Sheriff's Police took Anderson away in handcuffs. He was charged with three felonies: traveling to meet a minor, indecent solicitation of a child and unlawful grooming. A criminal complaint indicated that Anderson drove to Crest Hill hoping to hook up with a 13-year-old boy. He was captured as part of an online child sexual predator sting.

Nowadays, Anderson's case is assigned to Courtroom 404 of Will County Judge Amy Bertani-Tomczak.

Anderson is represented by a private attorney, David Sterba, of Palos Heights.

At the moment, Anderson's criminal case involving the three felony charges is still listed as open. However, court records show that Anderson made a request for probation last month. Anderson, court records show, agreed to undergo a sex offender evaluation and a detailed report would be prepared to evaluate his suitability for intensive probation.

His evaluation was slated to be finished by May 7. However, court records show that the sex offender pre-sentence investigation was completed on March 29. That document, which is off-limits to the press and the public, was returned to the fourth-floor Will County judge.
