McBride's On 52 Reopens: 'We're Trying To Make The Best Of It'
McBride's is one of several Illinois restaurants and bars suing an insurance carrier following the coronavirus.

JOLIET, IL — At times during the past seven weeks, stretches of Joliet's West Jefferson Street were dormant as dozens of small locally owned businesses remained shuttered during the new coronavirus outbreak. Over the past several days, a number of long-time Joliet establishments began coming back. McBride's On 52 is one of the latest businesses to comeback.
McBride's is now open 4 to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. All three McBride's locations are staying open the same hours. Besides the McBride's On 52, the owners operate pubs on Caton Farm Road in the Plainfield area and on South Eola Road in Aurora.

In March, Joliet Patch wrote an exclusive story about McBride's filing a federal lawsuit against Society Insurance, accusing the company of improperly denying its insurance claims amid the coronavirus pandemic. That lawsuit is still pending, Stary told Patch Friday.
Joliet Patch continues to write about the city's small local restaurants and businesses during the ongoing health crisis. Patch created a simple survey to let everyone know they are open and their current hours of operation. About 140 Joliet businesses have been added to Patch's list so far.
