The crowd was so large that she couldn’t park in front of her own garage. When she went to investigate, she says the other mom was egging her daughter on as she fought with another girl.

“The other mother was the only adult out there,” the woman said. “I could not believe what I was seeing. The daughter she brought over to fight just had a baby herself.”

The woman told Patch that her daughter and the other woman’s daughter, both 17, had had an argument. She alleges that the other mom brought her daughter over to her house to settle it with their fists.

“My daughter wouldn’t fight. [The other girl] ended up fighting my daughter’s best friend,” the woman said.

She doesn’t know what her daughter and the other girl had argued about.

“They’re teen girls,” the woman said. “One week they’re arguing and the next week they’re friends again. I stay out of it.”

The video shows a large group of young people recording the fight on their smart phones as the two girls wail on each other with their fists. About 1:11 seconds into the video, what sounds like a gunshot can be heard, as kids start running away.

By the time Joliet police officers arrived, the other mom and her entourage had left the scene.

The video was sent to the woman by other teens, who provided the video to Patch.

According to the woman, police told her to bring the video to the Will County State’s Attorney’s Office to determine the charges -- if any -- could be filed against the other woman and her daughter, as well as the male who allegedly fired the gun. No arrests were made.

Patch has filed a freedom of information request for the police report.
