New Joliet Bar Plans To Open At Busy Corner
Joliet's City Council will vote on the liquor license for Phil Petrakos, a Joliet businessman. The new bar will be called Phil's Corner.

JOLIET, IL — The Joliet building that previously served as the One More Time Sports Bar is expected to become Phil's Corner. Joliet businessman Phil Petrakos has applied for a liquor license to can open Phil's Corner at 1527 N. Raynor Ave.
The property is at the corner of Raynor and Theodore Street. Petrakos has been associated with the sale of alcoholic beverages for 10 years, and he is of good character, documents prepared for Tuesday night's Joliet City Council state.
The Council is expected to vote on the liquor license at Tuesday night's meeting. Mayor Bob O'Dekirk and deputy liquor commissioner James O'Connell are urging approval. "Th Liquor Commission feels that the issuance of liquor license would be in the best interest of the city and therefore, recommends approval of the license," their Council memo stated.
