Obituary: Arlene M. Sikora

Valued Manager of Chicago-area McDonald's passes away at age 87.

Obituary was published and funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home and Crematory.

Arlene Marie Sikora

Arlene Marie Sikora (nee Sredl), passed away peacefully, at the age of 87, on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at Lightways Hospice, surrounded by the love of her family. Arlene was born in Chicago, IL, on July 8, 1935, the daughter of Louis and Sylvia (nee Piha) Sredl. A longtime Joliet area resident, Arlene was formerly of Berwyn and Wisconsin.

Arlene was a valued Manager with the McDonald’s Franchise for many years. She ran several locations throughout the south suburbs of Chicago. She was a strong, independent woman, who enjoyed spending her free time at home with her family.

Arlene is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Michael A. Sikora; her two daughters, Kathy (Mike) Illingworth and Kim (Mark) Daniels; one son, Jack (Sandy) Kalal; grandchildren, Jen (Kevin) McInerny, Jeff Fron, Kelly (Tim) Ghilain, Nick (Stephanie) Daniels, Vanessa (Jason) Long, and Jessica (Chris) McGary; and her great-grandchildren, Connor, Dylan, Scarlet, Alex, Paxton, Gavin, Theo, Eli, Savana, and Mason.

She is preceded ­by her parents; and her brother, Ronald Sredl.

A Memorial Gathering for Arlene Marie Sikora will be held on Sunday, July 16, 2023, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet, IL, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. As it was her request, cremation rites have been accorded.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to Lightways Hospice, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, IL 60431.
