Obituary: June M. Siddon (Graves-Konow)

Lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church in Joliet passes away at age 88.

June M. Siddon (Graves-Konow)

Age 88, of Joliet, IL passed away peacefully, Saturday, April 13, 2024, at her home.

She was born and raised in Homer Township, the daughter of the late Lila Miller and Herman Konow. June was a graduate of Lockport Township High School. She resided in Joliet for most of her adult life.

Loving mother of Deborah L. Paull, Judith A. Douglass (John Kuchta), Lynn (Will) McGee and Butch Douglass; proud grandma of Gary (Michelle) Kurbis, Jr., Shaun Paull, Heather Paull; Emma McGee and Hannah McGee. June was also a proud great-grandma and great-great-grandma. Her sisters-in-law, Carol (the late Rocco) Guglielmucci, Joyce (the late Sam) Chirich, Sue Konow and Doris Konow survive as well as many nieces and nephews. June will also be missed by her dog Joey and Felix the cat.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband Francis "Frank" Siddon, her grandsons, Keith M. Douglass and Nicholas L. Paull; siblings, Arthur "Artie" (the late Donna) Konow, Herman "Hansey" Konow, Violet "Vi" (the late Ted) Giovanini, Francis "Fuddy" Konow; sister-in-law Nancy Wright and her parents.

After raising her family, June prepared meals for the Sisters of St. Francis at St. Francis Academy. She also became a home healthcare provider for many in the area.

June and her late husband Frank, were members of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Joliet Lodge #300 and the Croatian Cultural Club. She was also a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church in Joliet.

June rarely missed her grandchildren's events over the years. Whether it was a football game, dance recital or school function, she was always present with her bright smile and cheerful presence. Her gift of gab endeared her to many. Her hobbies included cooking and shopping.

Visitation for June Siddon will be Friday morning, April 19, 2024, from 10 a.m. until services begin at 12 Noon at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.) Joliet. Reverend Dr. Craig M. Herr will officiate. The interment will be private at Woodlawn Memorial Park II (Hills of Rest).
