Phyllis Jean Robbins-Paul-Vandarakis, passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at Lightways Hospice Home. She was born at her home in Princeton, KY, on December 12, 1941, the daughter of the late Leonard and Novella (nee Chambliss) Hopper. She attended Grade School and High School in Princeton, KY. She retired from Heakin Research Illinois as a researcher. Phyllis also waitressed for several years at various restaurants in Joliet.

Her Joys of life were her children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Phyllis was a people person who enjoyed talking to everyone. She enjoyed traveling most of the time to Kentucky where she could see the red dirt, visit with family, and see the blue Kentucky lakes.

Phyllis is survived by her husband of 14 years, Angelo "Evan" Vandarakis; her children, Rita Harris, Richard (Laura) Harris, and Robby (Jillian) Robbins; grandchildren, Chad (Alexis) Vespie, Kyron Cantelo, Karen Smith, Johnny (Mandy) Harris, Ronald Harris, Brandon Harris, and Sarah Lopez; great-grandchildren, Corry, Abigail, Henry, James, Alaina, Nova, Holly, Derrin Jr., Autumn, and Brayleigh; and her sisters-in-law, Connie Vandarakis, Dee Vandarakis, Pam Johnson, and Toni Vandaraikis.

She is preceded in death by her sons, Ronald Douglas Harris, and William Robert "Bob" Harris; and her parents.

A Memorial Gathering for Phyllis Jean Robbins-Paul-Vandarakis will be held on Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet, IL, from 5:00 p.m. until the time of prayers at 7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to Lightways Hospice, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, IL 60431, would be appreciated.
