Vanessa Rodriguez, of Joliet, passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at the age of 42. Vanessa was born in Tijuana, Mexico on September 11, 1980.

Vanessa is survived by her children, Valeria Rodriguez, Vanelia Rodriguez, Vilan Ortiz, and Virian Ortiz; brother, Maico Cabrera; special cousin Daniela Garcia; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mom, Guadalupe Garcia Amador.

Vanessa lived each day being optimistic, witty, charismatic, and helping everyone around her. She loved to cook for her family and eat the food as well. One of Vanessa’s favorite things to enjoy was an ice-cold Coca Cola. Vanessa worked very hard at her party decorating business, but also loved her leisure time to travel to Tijuana, Mexico. She lived her way, as she was very independent and strong willed in all she did.
Visitation for Vanessa Rodriguez will be held on Friday, June 23, 2023, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet, IL, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of Funeral Service at 7:00 p.m. As it was her request, cremation rites will be accorded following services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to her children would be appreciated.
