Splash Station Sold By Joliet Park District After 2 Years On Real Estate Market: Buyer Revealed By Board (patch.com) — Joliet residents will soon see the long-vacant Splash Station water park site change hands, as the Joliet Park Board prepares to vote on selling the Route 6 property to logistics developer Prologis. After years of vandalism and failed sale attempts, the deal could bring millions into the Joliet Park District, potentially helping fund a new large-scale community event to replace the discontinued Taste of Joliet.
   

2. Brothers Won't Stop Drinking Beer, Woman Decked After She Dumps Out Their Beer Cans: Prosecutors (patch.com) — A Joliet man is facing new felony domestic battery charges after prosecutors say a dispute over beer and intoxication at a home off Gaylord Road escalated into violence. Will County authorities describe prior domestic incidents and an extensive record, but a judge still ordered his release back into the Joliet community under the SAFE-T Act standards.

Woman Who Tried To Snatch Child, 1, Out Of Man's Hands Back In Jail: Joliet Police (patch.com) — Joliet readers should know that police arrested a 34-year-old local woman after she allegedly tried to pull a 1-year-old from the child's father outside a home on Krings Lane, causing them both to fall. Officers reviewed video, ensured the child stayed safely with the father, and charged her with domestic battery and child endangerment before she was booked into the Will County Jail and later released.
   

4. Trouble On Briggs Street, As Joliet Man, 26, Arrested After Will County Sheriff's Deputies Respond To House (patch.com) — In a Joliet domestic disturbance on South Briggs Street, sheriff's deputies arrested 26-year-old resident Caleb Dulen after a woman reported an argument that she said turned physical. Deputies noted a fresh bruise on her ribs, found no visible injuries on Dulen, and took him to the Will County Adult Detention Facility on domestic battery charges.
   

5. Joliet starts search for grocer on east side as state makes funding available with Illinois Grocery Initiative (shawlocal.com) — Joliet officials are renewing efforts to bring a full-service grocery store to the city's southeast side, where residents currently rely on gas stations or travel to nearby towns for shopping. With new Illinois Grocery Initiative grants available, Council member Suzanna Ibarra is seeking resident input on possible District 5 locations while a consultant helps identify a viable grocer and site.
