Plainfield Area Man Jailed For Choking Woman: Cops
The defendant was arrested early Sunday morning, according to Joliet Police.

JOLIET, IL — A 38-year-old man who lives in the Plainfield area was incarcerated over the weekend by Joliet Police officers after police say Robert Marrero attacked a woman and tried choking her twice during a domestic dispute. Marrero was charged with aggravated domestic battery, police said. He was taken away in handcuffs and put in the Will County Jail around 2:45 a.m. Sunday.
According to Joliet Police, patrol officers were sent to the 6500 block of Bazz Drive, a Plainfield mailing address, early Sunday morning. At the scene, the victim told officers she and Marrero had an argument and that when she went downstairs to use the bathroom, Marrero "followed her and kicked the door in," police reports show.
The woman then tried running to the upstairs bathroom to get away from the defendant but "Marrero forced his way in," police said.
