Revoked FOID Leads To Essington Road Arrest: Joliet Police
During the traffic stop, Joliet police say they saw an empty handgun holster on the passenger seat of Jeremy Drain's car.

JOLIET, IL — For the second time in six months, Joliet police have arrested 30-year-old Jeremy Drain in connection with improper possession of a loaded gun. The latest charges are aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and possession of ammunition with a revoked FOID.
Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English said that Drain's felony arrest happened around 9:40 p.m. on Tuesday, which was Dec. 26.

- Officers stopped the Jeep Liberty in the 1000 block of Essington Road for a registration violation and Drain was the driver. An empty handgun holster was on the passenger seat; during their search of the vehicle, Joliet police recovered a loaded handgun in a bag inside Drain's Jeep.
- Drain was placed into custody without incident and Drain’s FOID card was revoked.
- Officers also found on open container of alcohol in the Jeep; Joliet police indicated Drain was also cited for operating a motor vehicle with registration suspended for non-insurance, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, disobeying a stop sign, and illegal transportation of alcohol by driver, and his Jeep was towed from the scene.
Unlike June's arrest, Drain was not taken to the Will County Jail on Tuesday night. Instead, Drain was arrested and released on a Notice to Appear, arrest logs show.
