Smallcakes Opening Friday On Jefferson Street

JOLIET, IL — There could be a lot of a buzz on Joliet's social media scene Friday as the Smallcakes Cupcakery and Creamery of Joliet gets ready to open for business.

In July, Joliet Patch broke the news that Smallcakes was coming to Joliet, opening at one of the storefronts along West Jefferson Street, near the Walmart Supercenter.

"I'm so excited I can't wait," remarked Brandi, who is the owner of the Joliet store.

Until now, the nearest locations for Smallcakes are in Naperville, where there are two locations, as well as Orland Park, where there is one.

Owner Brandi and store manager Staci urged people to follow their Instagram page at Smallcakes Joliet to keep up on the latest information for the new store at 2410 West Jefferson St. Suite 106.

Smallcakes bakes and frosts 18 signature flavors daily, and store employees make 15 flavors of small-batch ice cream every day.

The Joliet Smallcakes will stay open seven days a week, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

Staci and Brandi told Joliet Patch that "Everything is handmade fresh from scratch every day. Nothing is frozen."
