Stolen Enterprise Rent-A-Car In Joliet Leads Arrest: JPD

JOLIET, IL — A 40-year-old man who comes from Chicago's South Euclid Avenue is now staying in the Will County Jail after Joliet police say John Spencer was driving through the City of Champions in a stolen rental car from Enterprise Rent-A-Car.

Spencer was arrsted by Joliet police on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle.

Spencer was booked into the Will County Jail around 7 p.m. Tuesday.

• According to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English:
• At 4:11 p.m., oOfficers conducted a traffic stop on a Nissan Sentra near Interstate 80 and South Larkin Avenue after determining the car vehicle had previously been reported stolen from Gary, Indiana. Spencer was the driver.
• Officers determined Spencer had a rental car from Enterprise Rent-a-Car and Spencer had failed to return the vehicle for over a week. Spencer was placed into custody without incident and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
