USF to Host Mathematical Association of America Meeting

The premier math conference in Illinois attracts mathematicians and students from around the State

Joliet, Ill. – The number “100” and the University of St. Francis (USF) continue to appear together throughout 2020. Joliet’s only four-year university, which is currently celebrating its centennial, will host the 100th annual meeting of the Illinois Section of the Mathematical Association of America on Friday, Mar. 13, and Saturday, Mar. 14, 2020.

The conference, which is the premier math conference in Illinois that attracts mathematicians and students from around the State, will include:

  • four plenary speakers: Edward Kim (University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse), Arden Warner (Natural Science in partnership with Fermilab), J. Alan Alewine (McKendree University) and James Sellers (University of Minnesota Duluth);
  • a three-hour workshop by Aaron Wangberg from Winona State University;
  • a variety of concurrent sessions, and;
  • an undergraduate student math contest.
