Victim, 26, Shot At Joliet Gas Station On July 4th
Joliet police learned the gunshot victim was rushed to St. Joe's hospital in someone's car rather than a Joliet Fire Department ambulance.

JOLIET, IL — Joliet police detectives are working on the Fourth of July trying to solve a non-fatal shooting that happened at the BP gas station near South Chicago and McDonough Streets.
The 26-year-old man suffered two gunshots to his body, and he was taken by a private automobile to St. Joe's hospital emergency room. Medicall staff informed Joliet police of the shooting at 1:05 a.m.
By that point, the shooter was long gone by the time the Joliet police officers converged upon the BP gas station on the city's southeast side.

The victim’s gunshot wounds were considered non-life threatening, police spokesman Dwayne English announced.
"Officers determined that it may have occurred in the parking lot of the BP gas station located at 6 McDonough Street. Officers responded to this location and found evidence of shooting," English noted.

English indicated this an active investigation in its early stages as Joliet Police detectives work to identify a suspect.
