More Details On La Grange Armed Robbery

LA GRANGE, IL – An armed robbery suspect stole money, lottery tickets and other items earlier this month during an armed robbery at 7-Eleven, 9600 E. Ogden Ave., La Grange police said.

Patch initially reported the armed robbery more than a week ago, but got more detailed information through a public records request.

About 9:30 p.m. March 3, a man entered the store, displayed a small black gun and grabbed merchandise, according to a police report.

The man then ordered the clerk to give money from the cash register and lottery tickets, the report said.

The suspect then told the clerk to lie on the floor, police said.

After the suspect left, the clerk pressed the panic button.

The man was described as black, 6-foot-2, carrying a blue bag, and wearing a black coat, a black mask, a black glove on his right hand, a gray glove on his left hand, black or gray pants, and black and white shoes.

Besides the money from the cash register and lottery tickets, the man is also believed to have stolen an ATM card from India, nine debit cards, four or five identification cards from India, $250 from a wallet and pocket, a Lewis University identification and about $80 worth of rupees (Indian money).

Armed robberies also occurred at the same 7-Eleven on Nov. 27 and Jan. 15, according to police reports.
